PHS Night at Amerks Friday Nov 23 7:35pm

The Rochester Americans are giving Penfield'c Class of 1997 an awesome deal on tickets for the Friday November 23rd game vs. Lake Erie Monsters at 7:35pm at the Blue Cross Arena. Bring your friends and family for some hockey fun!

Hi Guys! I just messaged a ton of you on Myspace. The planning committee would appreciate it if you bought your tickets to the reunion by next Wednesday (Oct 10) if you are fairly certain you are attending the reunion. In order for this reunion to take place, we need to make a sizeable down payment to the venue. While we're selling tickets at a decent pace, we're just not there yet.

Details on the Reunion

Thanks to everyone who bought their tickets last week and took advantage of the discount price. You can buy tickets until November 1, so you have a little time to figure out travel plans.

I wanted to clarify the menu because I have gotten a few questions. The reunion will include a 3 hour open bar, followed by a cash bar. Hearty hot hors'derves will passed around by waitstaff and will be followed by coffee and dessert.

There was a suggestion to have a pre-reunion get together too. I am not sure if it will be on Wednesday (the night before Thanksgiving) or Friday (the night before the reunion). Rather than go to Crummers, someone suggested Timothy Patricks. It is very close to Crummers (up near Rinky Dink). I will post a definate plan the week of the reunion.

We are looking for prize donations that we can give away/sell at the reunion. We are going to have a silent auction or a raffle (we're still deciding, so let me know what you think) and could use items to sell or give away. After one long summer, the invites are in the mail. Discounted ticket rates are available if you register by September 15th. A PayPal account will be set up soon. I'll post the info about PayPal here as soon as I get it.

Hotel Information

Hello! We have rooms reserved at the Clarion Riverside Hotel in Rochester for Saturday November 24, 2007. The rate is $89.00 for a single or double room. Please ask for the "Penfield Reunion Class of '97" room block when you call to make reservations (585-546-6400 or 888-596-6400). Reservations need to be made by November 6th.

Also, I have been updating the missing list in a previous post. I always change the date in the posting when I remove classmates from the list so you can tell if it is current. We still have 150 people to go! If you know anyone on the list, please tell them to email me at penfieldclass97@yahoo.com so we can mail an invitation.

I am hoping to mail out the invitations in the next few weeks. I'll post a message when they are mailed.

It is with sadness that I report Steve Butcher was slain in Iraq this week. Here is an article on the D&C website.

For those interested, a trust fund has been established for his 6 year old daughter.

Why: We are old! 10 years out!

Still Missing 149! as of 7/9/07

Happy Wednesday! Many thanks go out to Alissa Vanmulem for doing such an excellent job keeping track of our invitation database. Today she sent me updated lists of the "Haves" and "Have Nots." The good news is that we "have" 183 people from our class found!! The bad news is there are 193 to go. As I posted previously, we hope to snail-mail out invitations in June, so it would be a huge help to have your address now. Below is the newly updated list of missing students. If we have partial info on you, there will be a description of what we still need next to your name.
